The Institute for Strategic Leadership and Managemetn confers certifications at two distinguished levels: 1) Program Certification, and 2) Professional Certifications, recognizing both academic completion and professional mastery. 

Program Certification

A Certificate of Accomplishment is awarded for the SLM Leadership Development Program upon successful completion of each of the four modules Self-Leadership, Team-Leadership, Project Leadership, and Strategic Leadership. Certification is based on rigorous evaluation of 1) intellectual engagement, 2) presentations, 3) applied project work, and 4) attendance.

Professional Certifications

These prestigious designations recognize progressive mastery within the SLM Leadership Excellence Model and are awarded following a formal assessment by an expert panel.

Green Belt Professional

Conferred upon distinguished candidates who demonstrate mastery in one of the four pillars of the SLM Leadership Excellence Model: Self-leadership, Team Leadership, Project Leadership, and Strategic Leadership.

Brown Belt Professional

Conferred upon distinguished candidates who demonstrate mastery in two of the four pillars of the Leadership Excellence Model: Self-leadership, Team Leadership, Project Leadership, and Strategic Leadership.

Black Belt Professional

Conferred upon distinguished candidates who demonstrate mastery in three of the four pillars of the Leadership Excellence Model: Self-leadership, Team Leadership, Project Leadership, and Strategic Leadership.

Master Black Belt Professional

The highest distinction, awarded to candidates who demonstrate comprehensive mastery across all four pillars of the Leadership Excellence Model: Self-leadership, Team Leadership, Project Leadership, and Strategic Leadership.

Please make a note of the following:

1.   All candidates are required to present and defend their work before a panel of experts. Eligibility criteria are exclusively shared with graduates of the SLM Leadership Development Program.
2.  To apply for a professional certification, candidates must first earn the SLM Leadership Development Program Certificate of Accomplishment.
